An asking price is what a seller hopes to get. It is not a valuation and not a completed sale. Read more in the HDB resale price guide.
The asking price starts a conversation
Use asking prices to understand the choices currently on offer. Compare flat type, floor area, remaining lease, location and condition.

What to compare
- Flat type and floor area
- Remaining lease
- Floor level and facing
- Shortlist comparable homes
- Check recent transactions
- Ask for the valuation after the Option to Purchase
A neighbourhood average can hide differences between flat types and leases.

What is a Request for Value?
After the Option to Purchase is granted, buyers using CPF or a housing loan ask HDB to determine the value of the flat.
Price | What it tells you |
|---|---|
Asking | What the seller hopes for |
Transacted | What a past buyer paid |
